Why fire?
As we anticipate our travel of Winter 2023 in our accessible motorhome, I am encouraged to document where we go, what we see, old and new friends we visit and how God meets us along the journey. How well I keep this up depends on how often we change locations, what interesting things there are to report and if there are any wise and witty updates to make.
We plan to leave on Friday, Feb 10, 2023. Of course the weather will dictate the exact date and direction we head. We know we need to be in Austin for the wedding of Gino Troy III on Feb 25 so 15 days should give us plenty of time from Rochester, NY.
Last year our travels were nearly flawless as many prayed for our safety and fun. Laura’s health was steady and all three of us were healthy for our trip. Emma, Laura’s pup, went everywhere we went. George, our beloved tiger cat, has left us this past April so sadly he won’t be joining. A picture of him is attached as he wonders where we were on that day. He rarely ventured out of the motorhome but, he would peak out to see the new surroundings.
Laura has new challenges this year also as her vision has declined greatly and her advancing heart failure makes her very fatigued. We will be her eyes; we will take the days as they come and here’s hoping for a lot of sun that she can soak up.
Not many days left before we leave so we will focus on readying ourselves (we need more warm clothes this time - we were overly optimistic last year).
Oh yea, why fire? Besides having a great affinity for building fires and sitting and enjoying wonderful conversations by them, Bob and I are reading through the Bible and in Exodus the Israelites are being led across the desert by God with cloud by day and fire by night. So, I feel like that’s us right now. No plan, just trusting that this trip is right for us and for Laura.
Thanks for riding along!
Margaret
